Toyota Tundra

Toyota's full-size pickup spent two decades being almost-as-good as the F-150. The 2022+ redesign closed the gap, and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid version pulled ahead on torque.

Built in Texas. The full-size pickup that finally took Toyota seriously.

  • $40,755 Starting price (MSRP)
  • 22 MPG Combined economy (hybrid)

The verdict

What we think

Best for

  • Hybrid pickup buyers

The i-FORCE MAX is one of only two hybrid full-size pickups on sale (F-150 PowerBoost the other). Best torque in class.

  • Heavy-tow without diesel

12,000 lbs of tow capacity from a gas/hybrid drivetrain, enough for a 30-foot travel trailer or two horses.

  • Reliability over capacity

Lower max payload than F-150/Silverado, but probably the most likely to hit 300,000 miles without a major repair.
